About

Jamie Bliss writes ad copy by day and performs by night; she has gotten to do stand-up and tell stories at fun places like The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory, and Zanies. She also dabbles in what the kids call Content Creation on TikTok. Jamie’s passions lie in writing creative nonfiction and sharing her unsolicited opinions about TV shows. She is often unknowingly humming or dancing, and her dream birthday party involves getting mercilessly roasted by her closest friends. She has a penchant for grammar and senior pet adoption. She asks lots of questions.

  • Jamie has over a decade of experience both at agencies and on in-house teams, first as an account executive (briefly) and, mostly, as a copywriter. She is able to shift quickly between brand voices to provide engaging and functional copy for clients. Her experience includes retail, video, social, traditional, digital, and convincing everyone around her of the importance of the Oxford Comma.

  • Jamie began her performance journey in a Level A improv class at Second City, Chicago which she signed up for on a whim to help combat crippling anxiety. Long story short, she continued to force herself outside her comfort zone via improv and sketch, voice classes, storytelling shows, and production. Now, she travels all over the country performing stand-up and socializing - two things she never thought possible. Her comedy focuses on personal story and experience, and to answer her most-received question: no, she’s not doing a character…she’s just that anxious.

  • On top of her day job and stand-up, Jamie has taken on several personal projects in the last few years that have been both incredible learning opportunities and wildly fulfilling experiences. An improvised dance show, a silent short film, and a storytelling show with a three-year run are currently her favorites. She does not yet have a podcast, but assumes it’s just a matter of time.
